Wood is a natural and organic raw material, so it should be remembered that it is not perfect and may have minor defects, e.g. scratches and cracks, knots, roughness, surface roughness, colors - aesthetic defects, defects related to natural origin.
LIST OF PERMITTED DEFECTS
Processing quality
Not planing the entire surface - a small roughness around the branches is acceptable, poorly visible waves on the surface of the board, small mechanical damage with a width not exceeding 20 mm on the edge of the board, small mechanical damage at the ends of the board not exceeding the width of the board itself. Roughness of the side surfaces is acceptable, as long as it does not spoil the overall appearance when two boards are joined together.
Knots
Partially fallen out, cracked knots - single cases are allowed, limited to 20 mm on the visible surface or edge of the board. Non-grown or partially fused, durable, unfallen knots - up to one third of the board is acceptable. Rotting knots up to 15 mm are allowed. Lost knots - single cases of fallen knots with a diameter of up to 15 mm are acceptable. All boards with knot holes are removed during production. Due to the fact that they may appear at later stages of exploitation - small quantities are possible.
Cracks
Non-through cracks occurring during the drying stage of the wood are acceptable on the one hand. Through cracks at the ends of the board are acceptable as long as the length of the crack does not exceed the width of the board itself.
Resin pockets
Resin pockets are acceptable.
Curvature
Deformation of the boards - bends or deformations - may occur as the weather conditions change or in case of improper storage. This can be quite easily repaired during assembly, with the use of auxiliary means: buttons or tensioning straps.
Discoloration
In the case of wood, any discoloration is allowed - it does not affect the durability and functional properties of the wood.
Dimensional tolerance
A change in wood dimensions is allowed at the level of +/- 3%, depending on the operating conditions.
It is worth emphasizing that minor defects do not affect the functionality of the product, therefore any natural defects, which after installation of the product are outside the visible part and do not constitute any obstacles in normal operation, are acceptable.
